Brian Babin, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 36th district, recently shared several statements on social media. Babin has been in Congress since 2015, succeeding Steve Stockman. Born in Port Arthur, Texas in 1948, Babin is a graduate of Lamar University and resides in Woodville.
On February 18, 2025, Babin highlighted the work of local law enforcement officers in Jasper and Newton Counties. He commended Chuck and Colton Havard for their commitment to community safety, stating “A father-son duo committed to keeping our community safe! Chuck & Colton Havard are doing an outstanding job as Sheriffs of Jasper & Newton Counties. Our law enforcement is in great hands with them at the helm!”
Later that day, he marked the passage of time since a significant event involving Israel. Babin expressed solidarity with Israel and called for action regarding hostages taken during an incident on October 7th. He noted “It has been 500 days since the October 7 Massacre. The world is watching and demanding the long overdue release of all hostages.”
In another post on February 18, Babin praised political figures for fulfilling campaign promises. He mentioned @RealTomHoman and @POTUS by stating “This is EXACTLY what Americans voted for. Thank you @RealTomHoman and @POTUS for delivering on your promises!”
