Brian Babin, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 36th district since 2015, shared his thoughts on recent political developments through a series of tweets on May 13, 2025.

In his first tweet, Babin expressed relief and inspiration upon the return of Edan Alexander from Hamas captivity. He wrote, “Edan Alexander is finally home after months in Hamas captivity. His strength inspires us—and his return gives hope to every family still waiting.” Babin also extended gratitude to President Trump for facilitating this outcome and emphasized the need to bring all hostages home.

Later that day, Babin commented on the state of the U.S. economy under different administrations. He tweeted, “Things are finally turning around under Trump. Not long ago, Americans were scraping by under ‘Bidenomics’ that tanked the economy.” He noted a clear difference between the economic policies of President Trump and those of his predecessor.

In another tweet, Babin addressed issues related to Medicaid and immigration. He stated that “1.4 MILLION illegal aliens are on Medicaid,” which he described as fraudulent activity undermining the system Democrats claim to protect. He assured followers that @HouseGOP is committed to securing and strengthening Medicaid for American citizens while cautioning against what he perceives as misinformation from the Left.

Brian Babin was born in Port Arthur, Texas in 1948 and currently resides in Woodville. He graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1973.
