Brian Babin, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 36th district since 2015, shared his views on law enforcement and leadership through a series of tweets. Babin, who succeeded Steve Stockman in Congress and is known for his support of conservative policies, emphasized respect for law enforcement and criticized what he perceives as liberal approaches to crime and governance.

On May 12, 2025, Babin expressed his support for President Trump while criticizing President Biden’s approach to law enforcement. He stated that “President Trump backs the blue. Biden turned his back on them.” He further asserted that “Our men and women in uniform deserve respect—not woke politics or defunding.”

The following day, May 13, 2025, Babin reiterated his stance by contrasting the actions of political parties regarding criminal justice. He tweeted that “The Left coddles criminals. We back the badge.” Adding that with Trump’s leadership in the White House alongside the House GOP in Congress, “law and order is BACK.”

Later on May 13, Babin commented on leadership within Congress by expressing gratitude towards a faith-driven Speaker. In his tweet, he stated “Amen! Thankful for a Speaker who leads with faith and trusts in the Lord.” He praised this type of leadership as essential for America.

Brian Babin was born in Port Arthur, Texas in 1948 and currently resides in Woodville. A graduate of Lamar University with a Bachelor of Science degree earned in 1973, he has dedicated many years to public service.
