Brian Babin, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 36th district since 2015, has recently shared his views on several pressing issues via social media. Babin, who succeeded Steve Stockman in Congress and is a graduate of Lamar University, voiced his support for American energy production, commended local law enforcement efforts, and advocated for legislative reform regarding birthright citizenship.

On February 7, 2025, Babin expressed criticism towards President Biden’s energy policies by stating: “President Biden did EVERYTHING he could to cripple American energy production while enriching our adversaries.” He further declared his intention to vote in favor of the Protecting American Energy Production Act to boost domestic energy output and reduce costs.

Later that day, Babin praised the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office for their successful drug enforcement actions. He acknowledged their work by saying: “Outstanding work by the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office! Thanks to their dedication, 21kg of dangerous drugs are off our streets.”

On February 8, 2025, Babin called for support from his colleagues in Congress regarding the Birthright Citizenship Act. He urged an end to what he perceives as misuse of the birthright citizenship policy: “In @thehill, I urge my colleagues to support my Birthright Citizenship Act and END the abuse of our nation’s birthright citizenship policy.”
