U.S. Representative Ed Case, who represents Hawaii’s 1st district in Congress, has shared a series of updates on his official Twitter account regarding his recent activities and upcoming events.
On July 22, 2025, Case announced an opportunity for constituents to engage directly with him: “I’m holding another live districtwide Tele-Talk Story on Tuesday, July 29th, 6:00-7:30pm Hawai‘i time. I’ll report back to you, listen to your concerns and guidance and answer your questions. Check the graphic for how to join. Send questions now or then to ed.case@mail.house.gov.” The event is designed for community members to share their concerns and ask questions.
A day later, on July 23, Case addressed federal environmental funding during committee discussions: “In my Appropriations Committee’s consideration of funding of federal environmental protection efforts, I spoke in strong opposition to a proposed $1.7 billion reduction for safe drinking water programs, citing Honolulu’s fragile water resources and Red Hill, PFAS and 38 high”. He referenced local issues such as Honolulu’s water resources and the Red Hill fuel storage facility.
On July 24, Case highlighted meetings with various visitors from Hawaii while managing his responsibilities in Washington: “Dodged in and out of Appropriations all week to catch visitors from home including new East West Center President Celeste Connors, Karina Ramirez and Paul Bernstein of Citizens Climate Lobby/Hawai’i, Peter Tsukazaki of Tao Investments for the American Retirement Assn, and Kory,”
Case has served as U.S. Representative for Hawaii’s 1st District since 2019 after replacing Colleen Hanabusa. He previously served in the Hawaii House of Representatives between 1994 and 2002. Born in Hilo in 1952 and currently residing in Kāneʻohe at age 70, Case graduated from Williams College in 1975 before earning a law degree from UC Hastings in 1981.
