U.S. Representative Ed Case, who serves Hawaii’s 1st district in Congress, shared updates on his recent activities and local developments through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) in mid-August 2025.
On August 16, Case highlighted efforts to foster U.S.-Japan relations by meeting with Japanese officials in Honolulu. He wrote, “I try to strengthen our country’s relationship with our friend and ally Japan in DC, home and elsewhere wherever and however I can, including visiting with Consul General and Mrs. Kodama at the Japan Consulate in Honolulu. Japan first established a mission in Honolulu in 1885,” referencing the longstanding diplomatic history between Japan and Hawaii.
Later that day, Case commented on federal funding achievements for higher education institutions in Hawaii. In his post he stated, “Great result for University of Hawai’i on fourth straight year of record federal and other external funding. Reflects great talent and partnerships with Hawaii’s Congressional delegation and others. But we’ll all have to work even harder and smarter and more coordinated to keep”.
On August 17, Case promoted his regular outreach program via community media: “Here’s my next monthly Congressman Ed Case Reports on ‘Olelo Community Media, this one on my recent back-home outreach including: Palarong Pinoy at Fil-Com in Waipahu; Puerto Rican Festival at Mililani High; Pearl Harbor Trades Graduation at Hilton Hawaiian; Red Hill Registry and”.

He holds a BA from Williams College (1975) and a JD from the University of California, Hastings (1981).
