U.S. Representative Ed Case, who serves Hawaii’s 1st district, recently shared updates on his participation in two major community events via social media, highlighting cultural heritage and labor recognition.

On August 31, 2025, Case posted about his attendance at a significant cultural gathering: “Hai Sai! Joined thousands at the Hawaiʻi United Okinawa Assn’s 43rd Okinawan Festival at the Convention Center to celebrate our great Uchinanchu ‘ohana near and far as well as the 125th anniversary of Okinawan immigration to Hawaiʻi. Ippee Nifee Deebiru!” The event marked both the annual festival and a milestone anniversary for Okinawan immigrants in Hawaii.

The following day, September 1, 2025, Case acknowledged Hawaii’s workforce during a labor-focused event: “I joined the Hawai’i Labor Unity Picnic at the Shell to recognize and celebrate the hundreds of thousands of our own whose hard work sustains our Hawai’i, including our 147,000 unionized workers, but also to share an ongoing commitment to a strong economy and to fair wages and”

Ed Case has represented Hawaii’s 1st congressional district since replacing Colleen Hanabusa in 2019. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1994 to 2002. Born in Hilo in 1952 and currently residing in Kāneʻohe, Case is an alumnus of Williams College (BA) and holds a JD from UC Hastings.
