Representative Ed Case, who has served Hawaii’s 1st congressional district since 2019, recently shared updates on his activities and engagements through a series of posts on social media. Case, born in Hilo in 1952 and currently residing in Kāneʻohe, continues to be active both within his district and nationally.
On July 14, 2025, Case commemorated the long-standing Puerto Rican community in Hawaiʻi. In a post he stated, “The first Boricua arrived 125 years ago from their native Puerto Rico to ‘work hard and play hard’ through the generations to some 45,000 throughout Hawaiʻi today. I was honored to participate in the Puerto Rican Heritage Festival in Mililani today to celebrate their rich culture”.
Later that same day, Case commented on an unexpected recognition at Honolulu International Airport (HNL). He posted on July 14, “Pleasant surprise at HNL redeying back to DC: they named a plane after me for record HNL-DC redeyes.”
On July 15, 2025, Case discussed international relations during a live broadcast with Allan Alvarez on KNDI Radio. As noted in his post, “I livestreamed w/ Allan Alvarez on KNDI Radio to talk our U.S.-Philippines relationship, foreign assistance as part of national security, immigration reform, tariffs and more. Mahalo!”
Case has been representing Hawaii’s 1st District since succeeding Colleen Hanabusa in Congress. He previously served in the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1994 to 2002. A graduate of Williams College and the University of California Hastings College of the Law, Case remains an active participant in local events and policy discussions.
