Rep. Ed Case, who represents Hawaii’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to highlight transparency, community engagement, and defense oversight in a series of posts.

On January 20, 2026, Case shared a message about government transparency: “Transparency. You can easily track my votes and proposed legislation in Congress here: https://t.co/29kYtvI5he https://t.co/73AaVINtbe”.

The following day, on January 21, he emphasized the importance of maintaining communication with his constituents by announcing upcoming public meetings: “It’s critical to my job that I stay in touch back home, reporting to you, listening to your thoughts and answering your questions. As part of that, next week, starting Monday the 26th, I’m doing six more open in-person Talk Story community meetings across my district from Hawai’i https://t.co/Z73YTFNRnB”.

On January 22, Case reported on his recent activities related to defense appropriations during a visit to military facilities near Seattle: “Hawai’i Proud! Couldn’t get home on a short weekend and so put on my Defense Appropriations hat to review Seattle area facilities including Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Naval Undersea Warfare Center/Keyport and Joint Base Lewis-McChord/Tacoma. Highlight was finding our Hawaii’s https://t.co/tCqExQXROW”.

Case has served as the U.S. Representative for Hawaii’s 1st District since 2019 after replacing Colleen Hanabusa. He previously served in the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1994 until 2002. Born in Hilo in 1952 and currently residing in Kāneʻohe at age 70, Case holds degrees from Williams College (BA) and UC Hastings (JD).
