U.S. Congressman Ed Case, who represents Hawaii’s 1st district, has recently shared updates on community events and his ongoing legislative work through a series of posts on social media.
On August 10, 2025, Case highlighted his participation in a local union milestone, stating, “I joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1186’s 85th anniv celebration at Sheraton Waikiki. From 19 electricians at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in 1940, Local 1186 has grown to some 2,800 members statewide and has been central to Hawaii’s story. Congrats”.
The following day, August 11, he announced the release of a new segment for a community television program: “Here’s my next Congressman Ed Case Reports on ‘Olelo Community Media. In this one I do a day of meetings in DC with folks visiting from back home, including Sierra Club Hawai‘i, Airline Pilots Association, Hawai‘i Realtors and Momilani Elem. School students, and also highlight”.
On August 12, Case referenced an appearance on KITV’s Island Life Live where he discussed various legislative efforts: “More from my talk story with Davey D and Lina Girl on KITV/Island Life Live, this on my work on Appropriations especially crises like COVID, Red Hill and Maui, preserving Social Security and Medicare, and getting things done for a small state in DC, “a big and tough place”.”
Case has served in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Colleen Hanabusa as the representative for Hawaii’s 1st district. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1994 to 2002. Born in Hilo in 1952 and currently residing in Kāneʻohe, Case holds degrees from Williams College (BA) and the University of California Hastings (JD).
