Rep. Ed Case, who represents Hawaii’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on his legislative activities and policy priorities through a series of posts on his official social media account.

Addressing economic concerns related to federal shipping laws, Case commented on February 12, 2026: “Mahalo Bad Bunny for the Jones Act education break at Super Bowl … But seriously Puerto Rico like Hawai’i and the other non-48 parts of our country especially suffer from the jacked-up costs of living that result directly from the shipping monopoly stranglehold of this ancient https://t.co/BjYnBYc7O8”.

Case has represented Hawaii’s 1st District in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Colleen Hanabusa. He previously served in the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1994 to 2002. Born in Hilo in 1952 and currently residing in Kāneʻohe, Case holds degrees from Williams College and UC Hastings Law School.
