U.S. Representative Ed Case, who serves Hawaii’s 1st district, recently shared updates on his official Twitter account about events and legislative activities involving the local community and federal appropriations.
On July 19, 2025, Case expressed support for a new television series, writing: “Got home to join the celebration at Ko ʻOlina of the premiere of #ChiefofWar by Jason Momoa and Thomas Paʻa Sibbett. So proud and excited for them and our Hawaiʻi as it hits AppleTV+ worldwide August 1st.”
The following day, July 20, Case highlighted his participation in a significant milestone for a healthcare institution: “Really honored to join Kuakini Health System’s 125th anniversary celebration and present a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for a century-and-a-quarter of selfless service to our community beginning with Kuakini’s founding in 1900 as the Japanese Charity Hospital”.
On July 21, he provided an update regarding ongoing federal budget negotiations within his committee responsibilities: “Continuing our annual federal budget deliberations in my Appropriations Committee, although I had to vote against the overall transportation/housing/energy/water bills, several of my requests important to Hawai’i were included, like $46.3 million for two critical longtime Native”.
Case has represented Hawaii’s 1st congressional district since replacing Colleen Hanabusa in 2019. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1994 to 2002. Born in Hilo in 1952 and currently residing in Kāneʻohe, Case holds degrees from Williams College (BA) and UC Hastings (JD).
