Janis Holt, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 18th district, recently used her social media platform to comment on legislative actions related to election laws and party discipline.

On August 26, 2025, Holt called on constituents to take action regarding disciplinary measures for lawmakers who break quorum. She posted: “Did your Republican representative vote for censure measures to punish quorum-breaking Democrats? If they did, they need to sign on to Rep Hayes’ resolution to do just that. Call your TX state representative and ask them to sign on! #txlege https://t.co/BWTITV6GTz”.

Later that same day, Holt shared her support for legislation aimed at expanding prosecutorial authority over election-related offenses. She wrote: “Today, I voted for HB 12 to give the Attorney General the authority to prosecute election-related crimes. Soros-funded DAs shouldn’t be allowed to let election crimes slide. https://t.co/6mPi3sVco5” (August 26, 2025).

The following morning, Holt made a brief post alluding to ongoing legislative efforts: “Hopefully this next “bite at the apple” will work.” (August 27, 2025).

Holt was elected in 2025 and succeeded Ernest Bailes as representative of Texas’ 18th House district.
