Jodey Arrington, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 19th district since 2017, recently shared his perspectives on global trade and domestic policy through a series of tweets. Born in Plainview, Texas in 1972, Arrington has been a prominent political figure advocating for changes in trade policies and social issues.

On May 8, 2025, Arrington expressed the need for leadership that emphasizes fairness in international trade. He stated, “We are long overdue for a leader who demands adherence to the basic principle of fairness from our global trading partners and is willing to leverage the U.S. market in order to achieve reciprocal trade.” In this tweet, he encouraged readers to engage with his detailed thoughts by reading his latest op-ed published in the Daily Caller.

In another tweet on the same day, Arrington highlighted what he views as a crucial moment for addressing global trade imbalances. He remarked that “We have a historic opportunity to finally fix the global trade imbalance, which has punished our producers and manufacturers for decades and will eventually lead to Americans being dangerously dependent on our adversaries for everything from computer chips, to food and drugs.”

Later that day, Arrington commented on domestic social issues concerning sports policies. He praised Rep. Lisa McClain’s efforts against certain cultural ideologies by saying “Excellent job by @RepLisaMcClain exposing the absurdity of woke thinking.” He critiqued a suggestion from the National Women’s Law Center regarding girls’ volleyball safety measures and concluded with “Make America Sane Again!”

Arrington graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994 and resides in Lubbock.
