Rep. Ed Case, representing Hawaii’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently shared insights on various meetings and discussions held at Capitol Hill through a series of tweets. These engagements reflect his commitment to addressing the concerns of veterans, firefighters, and local government representatives from Hawaii.
On March 6, Rep. Case highlighted his participation in “Veterans week on the Hill,” where he engaged with key figures such as Tony Yanez from Wounded Warrior Project Hawaii and Ben Fuata, Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Hawai’i. The discussions focused on “defending and delivering veterans benefits throughout our country and to our over 110,000 vets in Hawai’i.”
The following day, March 7, Rep. Case welcomed members of the Hawai’i Fire Fighters Association Local 1463 to Capitol Hill. Representing nearly 3,000 active and retired firefighters across Hawaii, they discussed congressional issues impacting approximately 350,000 members throughout North America. As Rep. Case noted in his tweet “Because when seconds count…” emphasizing the critical nature of their work.
On March 8, Rep. Case expressed appreciation for meeting with councilmember colleagues from all Hawaiian counties at his Capitol Hill office for an extended discussion about “the real impacts of the administration’s recent and ongoing actions on our mutual constituents across Hawai’i.” This conversation underscored the heightened importance of collaborative governance amidst evolving administrative policies.
