Rep. Ed Case, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Hawaii’s 1st district, shared updates on various initiatives and engagements through his social media posts in May 2025.
On May 13, Rep. Case posted about a delegation visit to Lithuania as part of the House Defense Appropriations committee. During this visit, he met with former Republic of Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen to discuss “various mutual issues.” The meeting underscored ongoing international dialogues and cooperation “On our House Defense Appropriations delegation to Lithuania, we had the privilege of catching up with former Republic of Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen on various mutual issues.”
The following day, May 14, Rep. Case expressed his support for legislation aimed at improving compensation for medical practitioners caring for seniors in Hawaii. He emphasized the importance of this bill by joining his colleagues from Hawaii in backing it “Proud to join all three of my Hawai’i colleagues in supporting a bill to reinforce our commitment to Hawaii’s kupuna by ensuring that their medical practitioners are adequately compensated for the care they provide to our seniors.”
On May 15, during National Police Week and Peace Officers Memorial Day, Rep. Case paid tribute to peace officers across federal, state, and local levels. He acknowledged their role in maintaining safety and honored those who have been lost or disabled while performing their duties “On this national Police Week and this Peace Officers Memorial Day, we especially mahalo all of the federal, state and local peace officers who, in so many ways, keep us safe, and especially remember all those lost and disabled in the performance of their duties.”
Ed Case has served in Congress since 2019 after replacing Colleen Hanabusa. Born in Hilo in 1952 and residing now in Kāneʻohe, he has a background that includes service in the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1994-2002. He is an alumnus of Williams College (BA) and holds a JD from UC Hastings.
