The Harris County COVID-19 Relief Fund is accepting applications.

The $30 million fund was designed to serve Harris County residents who have been economically impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and are struggling to make ends meet. The fund is expected to aid approximately 20,000 families who may be ineligible for other relief funding or can't wait to be able to afford essential needs, KHOU-TV reported.

"The sudden loss of jobs, wages and child care has created an unprecedented economic crisis – especially for the most vulnerable in our community, who were already struggling when the pandemic struck. It is our responsibility to help these individuals, especially those who won’t be getting support from anywhere else," Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo said on the fund's web site.

Qualifying residents can apply online at HarrisCountyRelief.org or over the phone at 832-848-0214.
