On February 12, 2025, Babin addressed concerns about espionage and trade theft linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He stated that "The CCP’s infiltration of America is deeper than you think," referencing over 60 cases uncovered by HomelandGOP across 20 states. He criticized President Biden for not taking action while the CCP allegedly targeted American businesses, universities, and infrastructure.
Later that day, Babin tweeted about border security efforts led by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. He noted that ".@GovAbbott and Texas stepped up when Biden failed to secure the border." Babin claimed that the federal government owes Texas $11 billion for its initiatives in securing the border.
On February 13, 2025, Babin expressed his support for legislation concerning border safety. He announced his intention to vote yes on the Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act with the statement: "I’m voting YES on the Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act." This act aims to prevent individuals fleeing Customs and Border Protection (CBP) from entering the U.S., honoring Officer Gonzalez's sacrifice in protecting the border.
