Janis Holt, a Republican who was elected to the Texas State House in 2025 representing the 18th House district, posted on her Twitter account about recent legislative developments in Texas.
On August 28, 2025, Holt wrote about supporting fellow legislator Joanne for Texans and the passage of a bill regarding Ivermectin sales: “It was an honor to stand with my friend, @joannefortexans, and ask some friendly questions as she passed HB 25 to allow for over-the-counter Ivermectin sales, today. #MAHA https://t.co/skkTn9Mv1a”.
Later that day, Holt commented on debates surrounding bathroom access legislation: “I, along with other reformers, started off today by calling objection to the ongoing blather by the democrats who are ok with men in women’s bathrooms. Unfortunately, it passed. Thankfully, subsequent motions to extend time have failed and we have shut down a lot of their” (August 28, 2025).
On August 29, 2025, Holt reported on the passage of another bill: “Tonight, the Texas House, in a 87-43 bipartisan vote, passed the Women’s Privacy Act, finally protecting women and girls in their private spaces. It’s a great day for women and girls. #txlege https://t.co/aVGaKHNpm6”.
Holt assumed office after winning election to replace Ernest Bailes as representative for Texas’s 18th House district earlier in 2025.
