East Chambers ISD schools Education: 737 Hispanic students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 737 Hispanic students enrolled in East Chambers ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 4.1% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that East Chambers ISD schools welcomed 1,542 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 47.8% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

East Chambers ISD roughly covers schools within Chambers County and has a main office in Winnie.

Among the four schools in East Chambers ISD schools, East Chambers High School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 215 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
