On February 18, 2025, Rep. Case discussed federal budgeting practices. He stated that "Basic family budgeting: must include interest payments on any borrowings as expenses. But Congress doesn’t do that for proposed federal spending financed by government borrowings, while interest on our national debt is now our largest single expense except for Social Security…"
The following day, February 19, 2025, Rep. Case met with Jerry Chang, the incoming Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Honolulu. He emphasized their discussion about "our U.S.-Taiwan mutual commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific, partnerships in assisting the Pacific Islands, and strengthening our longstanding Hawai’i-Taiwan ties."
