The following day, March 31, 2025, Case acknowledged his respect for a peer in a tweet stating, “Of all the fellow elected officials I’ve been honored to serve with, Hawai‘i State Representative Gene Ward of Hawai‘i Kai has been among the best. Gene: You always taught me something and fulfilled your mission to ‘make Hawai‘i a better place to live’. As you leave office today.”
