Brian Babin, a U.S. Congress member from Texas's 36th district, utilized social media on April 17, 2025, to express his views on recent political developments involving Democrats, military land assignments, and the political strategies of El Salvador's government. Babin, who has been serving since replacing Steve Stockman in 2015, commented on these issues amid ongoing debates over national security and judicial actions.

In an earlier tweet on April 17, Babin criticized Democrats for their actions concerning the Laken Riley Act and their reported assistance to a gang member. He stated, "The same Democrats who refused to protect Americans with the Laken Riley Act are now flying to El Salvador to help an illegal gang member. They've picked a side, and it's not ours."

Later, Babin remarked on a decision by Secretary Doug Burgum regarding land use in New Mexico. In a tweet at 14:52, he stated, "Secretary @DougBurgum just gave 110,000 acres of New Mexico land to the @USArmy to patrol. Illegals who cross it are now trespassing on a military base. This is how you defend a nation!"

In another tweet later that day, Babin commended Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele for dismissing certain judges, suggesting a similar course of action in the United States. He asserted, "Bukele fired activist judges and took his country back. We should take notes, clean house, and fix America now."
