East Chambers ISD schools Education: 114 African American students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 114 African American students enrolled in East Chambers ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 9.6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that East Chambers ISD schools welcomed 1,556 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 7.3% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

East Chambers ISD roughly covers schools within Chambers County and has a main office in Winnie.

Among the four schools in East Chambers ISD schools, East Chambers High School recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 36 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
