There were five Pacific Islander students enrolled in Huffman ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Huffman ISD schools welcomed 3,717 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Pacific Islander students comprised 0.1% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Huffman ISD roughly covers schools within Harris County and has a main office in Huffman.

Among the five schools in Huffman ISD schools, Hargrave High School recorded the highest enrollment of Pacific Islander students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of two students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
