Brian Babin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 36th district, extends his congratulations to Miss Lily Read of Chester, who has been named as the 82nd Dogwood Queen. In a tweet dated April 9, 2025, he highlighted the significance of East Texas traditions and the role of young women like Lily in keeping these traditions alive.

On the same day, at 16:43, Babin expressed his support for American farmers and praised the efforts of leadership at the federal level. In his tweet, he acknowledged the commitment of the President and Secretary Rollins to American agriculture, underscoring the continual effort to support farmers from Texas fields to consumers' kitchen tables.

Later, on April 9, 2025, Babin took to Twitter to address the issue of voting rights in the context of immigration. In his tweet, he criticized policies that he feels would allow "illegal aliens" to vote, comparing it to "letting the fox guard the henhouse," and accused the Democrats of enabling such actions. He expressed the intention of the House GOP to address these concerns by passing the SAVE Act.

Brian Babin, a representative since 2015 after succeeding Steve Stockman, is a 75-year-old congressman born in Port Arthur, Texas, and currently resides in Woodville. He is a graduate of Lamar University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1973.
