On December 11, 2024, Rep. Ed Case announced that "Yesterday the House passed our every-other-year Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) which authorizes critical water infrastructure projects nationwide; it measure includes seven projects I requested for Hawai’i especially two to expand and improve our lifeline Honolulu (1/2)". This legislation aims to authorize significant water infrastructure projects across the nation, including specific initiatives for Hawaii.

Continuing his update on December 11, 2024, Rep. Case added "(2/2) Harbor and another to advance flood control in the Ala Wai Watershed. More here: https://t.co/NPaea4IfK2". On December 12, 2024, Rep. Case informed that "The House voted for final passage of our annual National Defense Authorization Act with many solid provisions I sought to include for our Hawai’i and Pacific including further action on Red Hill remediation and closure.
