Brian Babin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 36th district since 2015, expressed his concerns on social media regarding several policies and actions of the Biden administration. His remarks were posted on December 12, 2024.
In a tweet from that day, Babin criticized the Biden administration's decision to renew a sanctions waiver allowing Iran access to approximately $10 billion in payments from Iraq. He stated, “The Biden administration has renewed a controversial sanctions waiver that will allow Iran access to some $10 billion in payments from Iraq...” and added, "There's no scenario where this benefits the United States or our allies."
Later that day, Babin accused the administration of infringing on Americans' privacy rights by accessing financial information without due process. He tweeted, "Biden and his cronies have gone out of their way to spy on and gain access to Americans’ financial information without warrants or probable cause." He further commented that the administration's actions resemble an "Orwellian dystopia."
Additionally, Babin condemned Biden's student loan forgiveness initiative as unlawful from its inception. He asserted in another post, "Biden's student loan forgiveness scheme has been illegal from the start."
